b. 1993 Andrés Pérez is a Venezuelan queer photographer and artist based in Bogotá, Colombia. Their practice combines documentary and artistic photography to explore identity, memory, the body, desire, and sexuality as spaces shaped by binary and heteronormative forms of violence and control. Through photography, they explore the tension between intimate life and the visual, social, and cultural norms that have historically determined which identities can be recognized as legitimate in public life.

Their artistic practice also extends into photography education, where they develop pedagogical approaches to de-masculinizing the gaze.

 

In 2025, they participated in the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass. Their work has received recognition from the Prince Claus Fund, POY Latam, and Pride Photo.

Their work has been exhibited at Bozar – Centre for Fine Arts (Brussels), Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe (Hamburg), Museo di Roma in Trastevere (Rome), Houston Center for Photography, BredaPhoto, and PhotoVogue Festival (Milan), among other museums, institutions, and festivals.
